Amitabh Bachchan remembers Amar Akbar Anthony, shares memorable pictures

Mumbai, May 27 (IBNS): Megastar Amitabh Bachchan turned nostalgic when he remembered his blockbuster movie Amar Akbar Anthony as it completed 40 years of its release on Friday.

The film had hit the Indian silverscreen on May 27, 1977.

The movie was directed by Manmohan Desai.

Amitabh Bachchan posted a vintage picture from the sets of the movie when his daughter Shweta Bachchan and son Abhishek visited him.

Big B tweeted: "T 2436 - 40 years of Amar Akbar Anthony .. and Shweta and Abhishek visit me on the set when I was doing song 'my name is Anthony Gonsalves."

Amitabh Bachchan also shared several other memorable pictures from the movie.

"T 2436 - 40 years of 'Amar Akbar Anthony' .. what a film and what amazing memories .. one day it shall be disclosed," he said.

The actor said: "T 2436 - 40 years of 'Amar Akbar Anthony' .. amazing .. ran for 25 weeks in 25 theatres in Mumbai .. !! and still runs .., a classic."

The movie featured actors Amitabh Bachchan (as Anthony Gonsalves), Vinod Khanna (as Amar Khanna) and Rishi Kapoor (as Akbar Allahabadi).
