Independence Day: Resurgence performs strong at Indian BO on opening day

Mumbai/Los Angeles, June 25 (IBNS): With Hollywood movies performing strongly in India in recent times, the latest released US movie Independence Day: Resurgence made a good start at the box office in the Indian market on Friday.

The film earned Rs.  4.70 crore in India on Friday.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Hollywood dominates yet again... #IndependenceDayResurgence has a GOOD start... Fri ₹ 4.70 cr nett. India biz... Eng+Hindi+Tamil+Telugu."

The film, which was released across India on Friday, is directed by Roland Emmerich and written by Emmerich, Dean Devlin, Nicholas Wright, James A. Woods and James Vanderbilt.

It is the sequel to the 1996 film Independence Day and stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward and William Fichtner.
