Viacom18 Motion Pictures adds ‘Waras’ to its film slate

Mumbai, Oct 21 (IBNS): For the first time ever in the history of Marathi cinema - veteran actor-director Sachin Pilagoankar and the much loved super star Swapnil Joshi will be seen together on the silver screen in the upcoming film - ‘Waras’.

Diversifying its slate with engaging content across languages, Viacom18 Motion Pictures adds this intriguing story to its list of releases for 2017.

Elaborating on the same, Ajit Andhare – COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures said, “VMP is producing a robust slate for 2017 with a mix of Hollywood tentpoles.

Hindi trend setters and regional game changers like Waras.

Weaving a immersive plot headlined by powerful performances of Sachin and Swapnil, Waras promises to captivate viewers.”

Acclaimed director Rakesh Sarang will be directing this political drama.

Elaborating on the same, producer Joe Rajan said, “The Marathi entertainment and film industry has witnessed exponential increase in audiences with its rich content and cinematic excellence; we believe that Waras will add further value to the same.”

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Karishma Jain and Joe Rajan, the film is Co-produced by Swapnil Joshi and Gseams and is scheduled to release in 2017.
