Mumbai, Dec 9 (IBNS): Losing the wicket of KL Rahul (24) early, India recovered as Murali Vijay (70*) and Cheteshwar Pujara (47*) played cautiously to finished the second day's play of the fourth Test against England at 146 runs for the loss of a wicket here on Friday.

With India struggling at 1-39, Pujara and Vijay played sensibly to add 107 runs in the second wicket stand to finish the day on a positive
note for India.

The home side still trail England's first innings score of 400 all out by 254 runs.

British spinner Moeen Ali  picked up the wicket of Rahul.

England were all out for 400 in their first innings shortly after lunch on Friday, the second day of their fourth test against India after Jos Butler, who played a gritty innings fell to Ravindra Jadeja.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the most successful bowler for the hosts, claiming six wickets giving away 112 runs, while Ravindra Jadeja finished with a haul of four wickets for 109 runs.

On Thursday, England had won the toss and elected to bat.

In the five-match series, India is leading 2-0 winning the second and third test matches against England.
