Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visits Sabarmati Ashram, Akshardham temple

Ahmedabad, Feb 19 (IBNS) : Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday  visited Sabarmati Ashmram in Ahmedabad and Akshardahm temple in Gandhinagar shortly after his arrival in Gujarat on a one-day visit, reports said.

He is also slated to deliver a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Trudeau is on a week-long visit to India.

The Canadian Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with PM Narendra Modi on February 23.

Both the leaders will talk and focus on key issues like trade, defence, civil nuclear cooperation, space, tackling climate change energy and education. Trudeau's visit is expected to deepen ties between India and Canada.

Accompanied by his family, the 46-year-old prime minister arrived in New Delhi on Saturday evening. He has already been to Agra for a visit to Taj with his family.

Trudeau along with his family on Sunday visited Taj Mahal in Agra.
