New Delhi, July 7 (IBNS): Days after getting the Supreme Court verdict which favoured the Delhi government in a tussle with Lieutenant Governor (LG) Anil Baijal over sharing of powers, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said all the developmental works will be speeded up now.

The matter moved to the top court after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government had alleged that Baijal is interfering in their works.

Ensuring good work for people living in the national capital, Kejriwal tweeted, "Developmental works of providing roads, drains, water n sewer in unauthorised colonies will be speeded up now. Am going today for spot inspection of works in a few colonies."

In the verdict, which was passed by a five-judge bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra on Wednesday, the top court said: "Powers must be with the elected government. LG is an administrator."

The top court also said that the cabinet must convey all decisions to the LG but his concurrence is not required in all matters.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government on Friday cleared two new projects for the national capital.

The two projects are final installment for signature bridge and two new academic blocks and three new hostel in Delhi Technical University (DTU).
