Kolkata: BSNL services disrupted due to theft of cable

Kolkata, Mar 23 (IBNS) Different portions of BSNL underground telecom cable originating from Lady Brobourne exchange has been found missing from Par Circus 7 point crossing to Orient Row crossing in Kolkata, officials said.

The incidence of missing has occurred thrice repeatedly resulting in disruption in services of about 750 no of working telephone lines including Broad Band, Data Circuits over the area Darga Road, New Park Street, Tiljala Road, Dilkusha Street, Orient Row, Gorachand Road and Talbagan Lane, read a government statement.

"FIR has been lodged duly to local police station. BSNL, Calcutta Telephones is trying hard to restore the services at the earliest," it said.
