New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) Employees of the cash-strapped airline Jet Airways on Saturday conducted a silent “Save Jet Airways” march at the Delhi Airport to draw the attention of the government and authorities to help the carrier in this need of hour.

The employees, holding placards of “Save Jet Airways”, “Hear Our Cry, Let 9W Fly” marched at the Terminal-3 of the Delhi airport.

One of the placards read “We have dependents to feed, plz don’t let our 9W bleed. Jet Airways”.

The Jet Airways employees also conduct a "Save Jet Airways human chain",

The airline is flying with seven planes only on Saturday and had announced the suspension of its international operations till April 15.

The airline has been facing a mounting debt of more than Rs 8,000 crore. The airline has forced to ground its more planes due to non-payment of amounts outstanding to lessors under their respective lease agreements.

On March 25, the Jet Airways’ Board had approved a resolution plan in which it was decided that lenders, led by State bank of India, would infuse a capital of Rs 1500 crore immediately to save the airline. However, the plan could not be materialized so far.

The SBI-led consortium had also invited expressions of interest to sale the stake in airline. The deadline for the EoI ended on Friday. Now the bankers would invite prominent bidders by April 30.
