New Delhi, Sept 14 (UNI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP leaders including party working president J P Nadda on Saturday mopped the floors at AIIMS to launch 'seva saptah' (service week) to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, who will turn 69 on September 17.

Shah visited the AIIMS, met patients and enquired about their health. He distributed fruits to them and wished them a speedy recovery.

'Our Prime Minister has dedicated his entire life to the service of the nation and the poor, so it is the right time to celebrate the week of his birthday as 'Seva Saptah (service week)’. BJP workers across the country will launch it,' Shah added.

Director AIIMS Randeep Singh Guleria , Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Goel other senior AIIMS doctors were present on the occasion.

Interestingly, three resolutions will be taken during the 'Seva Saptah ' that include cleanliness campaign, prohibition of single-use plastic and water harvesting.

The Seva Saptah will be observed across the country during which blood donation camps, health camps, eye testing and operation camps, orphanage visits and other such programs will be organised.

The exercise will end on September 20.
