Ugandan woman arrested in Mumbai for smuggling drugs in wig, undergarments

A woman passenger from Uganda was arrested by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officers at the international airport here for allegedly trying to smuggle in narcotic substances, concealed inside her wig and bra pads. an official said on Wednesday.

In the operation conducted in the early hours of Tuesday, officers of DRI, Mumbai Zonal Unit recovered a total of 890 grams of cocaine valued at Rs 8.9 crores approximately, in the illicit market, from the said passenger.

The contraband was seized under the provisions of the NDPS Act 1985. Further, the passenger was arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
