Asansol: Mamata inaugurates 3rd Industry and Trade Fair

Asansol, Jan 29 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday inaugurated the 3rd Industry and Trade Fair in Asansol city of West Bengal.

She said the government will set up a  Core Committee with representatives of industry, business and government officials in Asansol to look into smooth progress of industry, trade and commerce in the area.

"We will set up a Core Committee with representatives of industry, business and government officials in Asansol to look into smooth progress of industry, trade and commerce here. We will also set up a Unique Clearance Centre in Burdwan to facilitate speedy disposal of mutation and conversion of land for industrial purposes and MSME Facilitation Centres in Durgapur and Burdwan to assist small and medium entrepreneurs," Banerjee said in a Facebook post.

"Investment proposals worth more than Rs.74,000 Crore in Steel, Fertilizers, Ceramic Tiles, Aerotropolis, Petrochemicals, Coal Mines are taking shape in the region including the adjoining areas of Birbhum. The enthusiasm among industrialists and businessmen in the Trade Fair and subsequent business meet with us was highly positive. We are expecting more investments to flow in the region along with other parts of our state," she said.

She said the steps will create 'tremendous employment opportunity' for the local youth.
