Centre hikes DA by 2%, effective from Jan 1
New Delhi, Mar 15 (IBNS): The Central Government on Wednesday announced a hike in DA (Dearness Allowance) by 2% for all employees and pensioners which would be effective from January 1.
The hike is going to benefit around 50 lakhs central government employees and 58 lakhs pensioners.
Dearness Allowance which is given generally to the employees to cope up with the inflated prices of the market was hiked by 6% to 125% of basic pay earlier in the last year.
The DA is paid as a percentage of an employees' basic pay.
