Chhattisgarh government to setup mega food parks to boost its economy

Kolkata, July 7 (IBNS) The Chhattisgarh government will set up a 150 hectare mega food park near Dhamtari district of the state.

Speaking to media here, Sunil Mishra, MD, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation, said, “We are coming up with three mega food parks. Two are in private sector and one in Dhamtari. In the Dhamtari food park we have got all the approvals.”

The private sector food parks will be built on an 100 acres land each and have acquired all the necessary sanctions and approvals from both the Central and the state government.

Subodh Kr Singh, Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industries, Government of Chhattisgarh, said, “In terms of investment, we are looking at 2 lakh crores in the next five years.”

The Chhattisgarh Government has received 162 Food Processing proposals and has sanctioned 141 among them. They have also sanctioned grants of Rs. 2796.90 lakh towards food processing and have received grants worth Rs. 1333.44 lakh.

Amar Agarwal, Commerce and Industries Minister, Government of Chhattisgarh, said, “There can be no better place than Chhattisgarh for an investor from Bengal. In the next five years our state will not only advance in itself but will also play a major role in shaping up India.”
