National, Feb 28 (IBNS): FreeCharge, India’s leading digital payments platform and Housejoy, a leading provider in the home services space on Tuesday announced their partnership.

The partnership will enable convenient e-wallet payments using FreeCharge on the Housejoy web and app platforms.

Currently, FreeCharge customers can also book such services across platforms like UrbanClap, Zimmber, Wassup and DriveU.

Start-ups in the online services landscape are constantly trying to organise the highly unorganized service sectors such as plumbing, electrical works, house maintenance, laundry services etc.

The increased adoption of such platforms has led FreeCharge to associate with companies in the home services category to enable the consumers not just to order home services online at their convenience but also will give them access to secure and easy one click access to payments for such services.

Commenting on the partnership, Sudeep Tandon, CBO FreeCharge, said, “Our partnership with Housejoy stems from the preferences of the present-day metro customers who seek the comfort and ease of getting things done on the move. With the partnership, we provide our customers another avenue for digital payments which they encounter in their daily life and hope to give the vision of a less cash India a small thrust through this partnership. We are extremely positive that the association will bring in positive results for both the firms and enhance the payments experience of Housejoy customers.”

Through the tie-up with Housejoy and FreeCharge aims to carter to more than 1 million customers across 5 major cities in India - Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad. Consumers can now book services ranging from maintenance and home repairs to high quality plumbing, electrical services, home cleaning and computer repairs on the Housejoy App and select FreeCharge as a payment option to make payment for the services.

“With demonetization we have been seeing a sharp increase of customers opting for digital mode of payments. At Housejoy we have always prioritized convenience of our customers, and this association with the pioneers of digital wallet- Freecharge is in line with the same objective. With this association we would provide our customers convenience and giving them more and easier options for using the money in their wallet.” said, Saran Chatterjee, CEO Housejoy
