Forbes World's Billionaire List 2024: Mukesh Ambani retains tilte as India & Asia's richest, ranks 9th globally; Gautam Adani is world's 17th richest

Mumbai: Indian billionaires increased their presence in the 2024 Forbes list of the World’s Billionaires to 200 from 169 last year. Leading the list is Mukesh Ambani, whose net worth surged to $116 billion from $83 billion, establishing him as the first Asian to enter the $100 billion club. Ambani maintained his status as the ninth wealthiest individual globally and continues to hold the title of India’s and Asia’s richest person.

The collective wealth of these Indian billionaires featured in the list reached a new record of $954 billion, marking a notable increase of 41% from $675 billion last year.

According to the list, Gautam Adani ranks as the second wealthiest Indian, having increased his wealth by $36.8 billion, solidifying his position.

Globally, he stands at No.17 on the list, boasting a fortune of $84 billion.

Savitri Jindal retains her title as the wealthiest woman in India, now ascending to the fourth position nationally, up from sixth place the previous year. Her net worth currently stands at $33.5 billion.

The list features twenty-five new Indian billionaires making their debut, including individuals such as Naresh Trehan, Ramesh Kunhikannan, and Renuka Jagtiani.

However, notable names like Byju Raveendran and Rohiqa Mistry have been excluded from the list this time.
