Indian benchmark indices gain record significant gains on Thursday

Mumbai, Jan 4 (IBNS): The Indian market, on Thursday, finally managed to break free of its low run since the New Year, with BSE Sensex up 176.26 points  at 33969.64, while NSE Nifty was up 61.60 points at 10504.80.

Top gainers included Tata Steel, L&T, ONGC, Dr Reddy's Labs and Asian Paints while Tata Power, Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, Axis Bank, Infosys, BPCL and Power Grid Corp were some of the key stocks that declined.

Chandigarh-based the Tribune said that an investigation by them has revealed that by spending a meagre Rs 500, any one can buy Aadhaar data from anonymous sellers.

However, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has termed the Tribune story as 'misreporting' and said in a release that there has not been any Aadhaar data breach.
