Indian markets end a little lower on Tuesday

Mumbai, Aug 9 (IBNS): Indian benchmarks ended slightly lower on Tuesday following profit booking by investors after the Reserve Bank of India decided to keep its interest rate unchanged, according to media reports.

FY17 GDP growth forecast was retained at 7.6 per cent amid mixed global cues.

Sensex was down 97.41 to 28085.16 and Nifty was down 33.10 to 8678.25 on Tuesday.

Some of the key stocks that gained were Coal India, Tata Power, Zee Entertainment, ONGC, State Bank of India, Bharti Infratel, HUL and Axis Bank, while Lupin, Idea Cellular, HDFC, Ambuja Cements, Grasim, BPCL, Hero MotoCorp, Power Grid and M&M ranked among the key losers.
