India's industrial output growth slows to 2.7 percent in May

New Delhi, July 10 (IBNS) India's annual industrial output growth has slowed down to 2.7 percent in May, official data released by the government showed on Friday.

"The General Index for the month of May 2015 stands at 180.0, which is 2.7% higher as compared to the level in the month of May 2014. The cumulative growth for the period April-May 2015-16 over the corresponding period of the previous year stands at 3.0%," read a government statement.

"The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors for the month of May 2015 stand at 128.8, 187.5 and 195.0 respectively, with the corresponding growth rates of 2.8%, 2.2% and 6.0% as compared to May 2014 (Statement I). The cumulative growth in the three sectors during April-May 2015-16 over the corresponding period of 2014-15 has been 1.5%, 3.2% and 2.8% respectively," it said.
