Maruti Suzuki sales moves down to 86,830 units in Sept 2021

New Delhi/UNI: Country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki on Friday posted sales of 86,380 units in September 2021, registering a 46 per cent decline from the figures it had posted year-on-year, the company said in a statement on Friday.

During the same period, the company had posted sales of 160,442 units.

The total sales of last month include domestic sales of 66,415 units, sales to other OEMs of 2,400 units and exports of 17,565 units.

The sales volume in September 2021 was adversely impacted due to shortage of electronic components, the company said in a statement.

Maruti Suzuki's mini sub-segment Alto, S-Presso posted sales of 14,936 units, compared to 27,246 units in corresponding month last year.

In the mid size segment, Ciaz posted sales of 981 units, compared to 1,534 units in corresponding month last year.

In the segment of passenger cars, Ertiga, Gypsy, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, XL6 posted sales of 18,459, compared to 23,699 units in the corresponding month last year.

In the vans category, Eeco posted sales of 7,844, compared to 11,220 units in the corresponding month last year.

Super Carry, a light commercial vehicle, posted sales of 3,304, compared to 2128 units in the corresponding month last year.

Sales of the company's total domestic vehicles, which included passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles stood at 66,415, compared to 1,50,040 units in the corresponding month last year.

The total domestic passenger vehicles sold last month stood at 63,111, compared to 1,47,912 units in the corresponding month last year.
