PM appoints Arvind Panagariya as NITI Aayog vice-chairman

New Delhi, Jan 5 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday appointed Columbia University professor and eminent economist Arvind Panagariya as the vice-chairman of NITI Aayog.
The Modi government has appointed scientist V K Saraswat and economist Bibek Debroy as full-time members.
 
Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Suresh Prabhu and Radha Mohan Singh have been appointed as ex-officio members of the panel.
 
The special invitees are Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Thawar Chand Gehlot, Smriti Zubin Irani.
 
On Jan 1, Modi announced that India's Planning Commission will  be renamed as "Niti Ayog."
