Bathinda: The Prime Minister’s Employment (PME) Scheme and the Prime Minister Food Processing (PMFP) Scheme seem to have started yielding good results in Punjab’s Bathinda region, with entrepreneurs in the district claiming of making huge profits within a year after implementation of the two schemes.

Entrepreneurs and industrialists in the Bathinda district are commemorating a noteworthy tale as they capitalise on the benefits of the two pivotal schemes introduced by the central government.

According to officials, under the aegis of the PME Scheme, aspiring entrepreneurs can avail loans of up to Rs 20 lakh for establishing service sector units. Those exploring the manufacturing sector can get loans of up to Rs 50 lakh.

Ravinder Mittal, a local businessman, who harnessed the potential of the Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana scheme, shared his success story with ANI, and said, “I obtained a loan of Rs 25 lakhs to establish my factory, and the accompanying subsidy has proved invaluable. I extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister for introducing such lucrative schemes that empower businessmen like me.”

“The Prime Minister’s emphasis on the employment scheme is truly benefiting the entrepreneurial landscape,” Mittal added.

The scheme also offers distinct subsidies for journals and reserves, effectively incentivizing a diverse range of industries.

Similarly, the PMFP scheme has also created avenues for individuals seeking to establish processing units.

According to officials, entrepreneurs, under this scheme, can secure loans of up to 35 lakhs, coupled with a generous 35 per cent subsidy.

Notably, the entire loan process has been streamlined through an online platform that aims to facilitate easy access and rapid responses.

“The synergy between these schemes and the local entrepreneurs is driving remarkable growth in the region,” Preet Mahinder Singh, General Manager at Udyog Kendra Bathinda said.

“The availability of loans, coupled with well-structured subsidies, is fostering a conducive environment for business expansion,” he added.
