Sensex closes life time high at 72,410.38 points

Mumbai/UNI: The record-breaking spree continued on Thursday too, as the BSE Sensex registered a huge gain of 371.95 pts to close at 72,410.38, tracking the global market amid strong buying in metal, auto, and bankex stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) advanced 123.95 points to 21,778.70.

The Sensex rose 224 points to 72,262.67 in the opening session. During the day, it was 446 points at 72,484 days high, before closing at 72,410.38 up 371.95 points from its previous close.

The stocks that were shone were Oil and Gas, Energy, Metal and Health Care.

Oil and Gas gained pc, Energy by 2.18 pc, Metal by 1.60 pc and Health Care by 0.92 pc.

The NSE posted days high and low at 21,801.45 and 21,678 points, respectively.

The Mid Cap advanced by 0.66 pc and the Small Cap by 0.23 pc.

In 30 scrips, 21 advanced while 9 down.

The gainers were NTPC by 3.11 pc to Rs 315.45, M&M by 2.58 pc to Rs 1730.80, Nestle India Ltd by 2.09 pc to Rs 26,260, Powergrid by 1.84 pc to Rs 237.90, and Tata Motors by 1.81 pc to Rs 754.

The losers were L&T by 0.67 pc to Rs 3520, Infosys by 0.61 pc to Rs 1557, Wipro by 0.57 pc to Rs 468.25, and TCS by 0.41 pc to Rs 3795.
