Sensex down by over 200 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex remained negative on Thursday too, as it dropped 232 points to open at 65,550.83 as selling pressure was witnessed in Commodities, metals, and real estate stocks.

In stocks, metals fell by 1.59 percent, followed by real estate by 1.25 percent, and Commodities by 0.72 percent.

The Nifty, too, fell 63 points to 19,463.75.

The midcap slipped by 1.59 percent and the small cap by 1.25 percent.

In 30 scrips, 7 advanced while 23 declined.

The losers were Titan by 1.36 pc to Rs 2938, Ultrasemco by 1.17 pc to Rs 8189.20, Hind Unilever by 1.07 pc to Rs 2542.85, Bajaj Finserv by 0.97 pc to Rs 1514.20, and Tata Steel by 0.97 pc to Rs 117.80.

The gainers were Sun Pharma by 1.48 pc to Rs 1153.05, NTPC by 1.35 pc to Rs 222.05, HDFC Bank by 0.55 pc to Rs 1649.85, and L&T by 36 pc to Rs 2630.80.
