Sensex improves by 87 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday improved 87 points to 71,222.62 in the opening session as buying was seen in metal, power, real estate, and technology stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 37.55 points to 21,559.65, slumping over 800 points on Tuesday, the equity market slightly improved in early trade.

The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 71,322.24 and 71,708.46 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded intraday highs and lows at 21,589.80 and 21,448.85 points, respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up 0.52 pc and the Small Cap by 1.08 pc.

In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined.

The gainers were Tata Motors by 3 pcs to Rs 885, Ultracemco by 1.38 pcs to Rs 10,095.50, Reliance Industries by 1.24 pcs to Rs 2849.70, HCL Technology by 0.99 pcs to Rs 1574.35, and M&M by 0.98 pcs to Rs 1636.

The losers were L&T by 5.43 pc to Rs 3436.05, Titan by 1.01 pc to Rs 3698.20, Kotak Bank by 0.58 pc to Rs 1812, and Infosys by 0.29 pc to Rs 1646.05.
