Sensex moves down 410.28 pts

Mumbai/UNI: Snapping a winning streak of last three sessions, the BSE Sensex on Tuesday plummeted 410.28 pts to below 60K level to 59,667.60 on profit booking by local operators amid weak global cues.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) declined 106.50 pts at 17,748.60.

Though the equity market opened in green, it immediately went in red and remained weak throughout the session.

The Sensex advanced by 208 pts to open at 60,285.89, a historic high. During the day, it crashed nearly 1032 pts to 59,045, days low, before closing at 59,667.60, sliding by 410.28 pts from its previous close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 60,288.44 and 59,045.53 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at17,912.85 and 17,576.10 pts respectively.
The sectoral indices like Realty, Telecom, IT, Finance and Technology stocks dragged the market today.

In scrips, Bharti Airtel was a major loser, down 3.68 pc to Rs 696.25 followed by Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and HCL Technology.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.71 pc and Small Cap by 0.62 pc.

In 30 scrips, 10 advanced while 20 declined.
