Tata Power honoured with 'Central Board of Irrigation & Power Award for Overall Outstanding Performance in Power Sector'

Mumbai/ Kolkata, Jan 5 (IBNS): Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, on Monday announced that the Company has been awarded with 'CBIP Award for Overall Outstanding Performance in Power Sector' at the Central Board of Irrigation & Power (CPIB) Day Celebration 2016, held in New Delhi.

Tata Power has been bestowed with this honour in recognition of the Company’s outstanding contribution to the development of the Power Sector in the country.

The event, which witnessed the participation of about 350 esteemed guests, was graced by the presence of  Uma Bharati, Minister for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India;  Ram Pratap,  Minister, Water Resources, Indira Gandhi Nahar Project, Command Area Development and Water Utilization, Government of Rajasthan; A.B. Pandya, President, CBIP and Chairman, Central Water Commission; Major Singh, Chairperson, Central Electricity Authority; and Amarjit Singh, Special Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India.

Accepting the award, Ashok Sethi, COO & ED, Tata Power, said, “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award because it honours our many contributions to the Indian power sector. We are delighted to be recognised for our good work, and acknowledgements like these serve as motivation to calibrate our approach. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Central Board of Irrigation & Power team, and all our employees for their exceptional work.”
