Uttar Pradesh: Criminal killed in encounter with police

Bulandshahr/UNI: A criminal was killed in an encounter with the Special Task Force (STF) and local police in the Gulaothi area of Bulandshahr district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar said that Saheb Singh Babaria was killed in the encounter with Gulaothi police and STF team from Gautam Buddha Nagar.

"Babaria was the kingpin of a gang of dacoits. He killed five persons, including two children, during dacoity and Gonda police had declared a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his arrest," he said.

He said that Babaria was also wanted in a case in Bulandshahr in which a reward of Rs 25,000 was announced on his arrest.

"He had more than a dozen cases of dacoity and murder in different districts," he said.
