4.6 magnitude earthquake hits Nicobar Islands, no casualty

Port Blair, Aug 21 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter Scale hit Nicobar Islands on Wednesday.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the earthquake hit the region at 2.49 pm.

The epicentre of the quake was located at 8.9 degrees north and 93.4 degrees east, the IMD website said.

No casualty or damage to property has been reported so far.
