Amid complaints, ICMR directs states not to use COVID-19 rapid testing kits for 2 days

New Delhi/IBNS: After complaints of faulty kits, the  Indian Council of Medical Research  on Tuesday directed states not to use the  rapid testing kits for two days.

"We will give advisory in the next 2 days," ICMR head scientist Dr R Gangakhedkar, said during the daily press briefings.

The ICMR said the issue will be investigated.

Meanwhile, 3252 people have recovered from COVID-19 in India.

"This takes our recovery percentage to 17.48 percent," Lav Agrawal, Joint Secy, Health Ministry, said adding that 705 people have recovered in the past 24 hours.

" 61 additional districts from 23 States/UT have not reported any fresh cases in last 14 days," he said.

Four new districts have been included in the list- Latur, Osmanabad,Hingoli and Washim.

The number of COVID-19 positive cases in India has crossed 18000-mark.

The country has reported 590 death so far.
