Srinagar/IBNS: Indicating a considerable decline in the infection proportion, Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) has recorded a 0.53 percent Covid-19 positivity rate in the last week.

As per the data shared by the government of India on Covid-19 from September 23 to September 29,  J&K has recorded a positivity rate of 0.53 percent which is below the national rate of 1.74 percent recorded during the last week.

The positivity rate is the percentage of all coronavirus tests performed vis-à-vis those found positive.

The positive percentage would be high if the number of positive tests is too high, or if the number of total tests is too low.

In J&K, only three districts have above one percent positivity rate namely Kulgam, Doda and Anantnag.

As per the official figures, Kulgam reported a positivity rate of 2.17 percent followed by Anantnag 1.93 percent, Doda 1.19 percent.

The remaining 17 districts have less than one percent Covid positivity rate.

Srinagar district which is reporting the highest number of Covid infections in J&K has a positivity rate 0.83 percent.

The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3  percent for the last 31 days and below 5 percent for 114 consecutive days now.
