Harsh Vardhan inaugurates a Vigyan Sadan at Hengbung

Hengbung, Feb 17 (IBNS) Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences & Vice President of CSIR, Harsh Vardhan has said that the central government is committed to ensure the development of the North eastern states and to make Manipur one of the most prosperous and scientifically developed states.

He was inaugurating a four-storey Vigyan Sadan in the Foundation for Environment and Economic Development Services (FEEDS) Campus at Hengbung in Sadar Hills, Senapati district of the state last evening.

The Minister earlier went around and saw the facilities in the Laboratory, the Hardening Chamber and the field Gene Bank and conveyed his deep appreciation to the Orchid Research and Development Centre, on this campus.

Harsh Vardhan noted the FEEDS campus at Hengbung has developed into a world class research centre even while being located at a tribal and remotest part of the country.

Vardhan also committed to setting up of Bio-Tech Park in Manipur and he discussed this issue with Chief Minister Shri Okram Ibobi Singh, whom he later met in the evening.
