Haryana reports 223 fresh COVID cases,tally 15,718

Chandigarh/UNI: Haryana registered 223 fresh COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the infection tally to 15,718 in the state.

According to an official health bulletin, 80 fresh cases have been reported from Gurugram, 46 from Sonepat, 38 from Rewari, 15 from Rohtak, 14 from Panipat, seven each from Palwal and Sirsa, five from Jhajjar, four from Nuh and one new case from Jind district.

Of the 251 fatalities till now, 96 deaths have been reported from Gurugram district, 83 from Faridabad, 18 from Sonepat, eight each from Rohtak and Karnal, 7 each from Panipat and Hisar, 5 from Rewari, 4 each from Jhajjar and Jind, 3 each from Bhiwani, Palwal and Ambala, while 1 death was reported from Charkhi Dadri and Mahendergarh districts.

Gurugram district leads the number of infections in the state with 5,649 confirmed cases, followed by Faridabad 4,028, Sonepat 1385, Rohtak 641, Bhiwani 441, Karnal 359, Ambala 344, Palwal 339, Rewari 352, Jhajjar 302, Mahendergarh 276, Hisar 250, Panipat 220, Nuh 211, Kurukshetra 133, Fatehabad 122, Panchkula 119, Sirsa 116, Jind 112, Kaithal 106, Yamunanagar 105, Charkhi Dadri 81 and 21 US-returnee Haryana citizens.

Of the 2,85,026 samples, 15,718 have tested positive and 2,63,629 negative, while the results of 5,665 samples are awaited. There are 4,407 active cases in the state.
A total of 11,060 patients, including 4,291 from Gurugram, 2,781 from Faridabad, 844 from Sonepat, 533 from Rohtak, 309 from Ambala, 252 from Palwal, 216 from Karnal, 200 from Jhajjar, 185 from Bhiwani, 184 from Mahendergarh, 181 from Hisar, 171 from Nuh, 133 from Panipat, 114 from Rewari, 104 from Kurukshetra, 95 from Yamunanagar, 92 from Fatehabad, 91 from Panchkula, 86 from Sirsa, 78 from Jind, 54 from Kaithal, 45 from Charkhi Dadri and all 21 US returnees have been discharged from hospitals so far.

As many as 1,06,139 patients have been put under surveillance till date, of which 60,399 have completed their surveillance period and only 45,740 patients continue to be under surveillance.

The total 15,718 positive cases exclude 14 Italian nationals. Thirteen of them had been discharged after their initial test turned up negative and one later tested negative for COVID-19. However, he died due to some other reason, the bulletin added.
