India fights COVID-19: 62,480 new fresh cases, 1,587 deaths recorded in past 24 hours

New Delhi: After marginal rise in number, India recorded a slight decline in daily count as 62,480 news COVID-19 cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health released data on Friday.

During the past 24 hours, 88,977 people were discharged from hospital.

 The number of daily counts as far as death is concerned also witnessed a dip with  1,587 casualties recorded in the past 24 hours.

The total death toll due to the virus now stands at 3,83,490.

After 73 days, the country's total active cases now stands below the 8 lakh mark.

The country now has 7,98,656 active cases.
