India records 20,528 new Covid-19 cases, 49 fatalities in last 24 hrs

New Delhi/UNI: India recorded 20,528 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of active caseload to 1,43,449 as per the Health Ministry data on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the total number of cases since the pandemic began in the country stood at 4,37,50,599.

As many as 49 Covid fresh fatalities were also recorded, taking the total death toll in the country, to 525709

Meanwhile, 17,790 recoveries were also reported in the same period, increasing the total number of recoveries to 4,30,81,441, whereas the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.47 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,92,569 tests for Covid have been conducted.


“India has administered 199.98 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine (92.60 cr second dose, and 5.64 cr precaution does ), so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
