India records 490 new COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: India registered 490 COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, Ministry of Health data released on Monday revealed.

The country also registered 45,903 new COVID-19 cases during the same period.

With a decrease of 2992 cases, 5,09,673 active cases are currently present in the country.

India, which is the second worst hit COVID-19 nation in the world, also witnessed 48,405 new discharges in the past 24 hours.

So far, 79,17,373 cured cases have been recorded.

The death toll due to the highly infectious disease in the country is 1,26,611.
