India reports 12,608 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India reported 12,608 new Covid-19 cases while the toll went up by 72 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said Thursday.

In the same span of time, 16,251 Covid-19 patients have recovered.

The active cases now form 0.23% of the total number of infections.

Amid the spike in infections, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Wednesday asked all airlines and airports in the country to strictly follow Covid-19 protocols like wearing of face masks during the flight journeys.

So far under the national vaccination drive, 208.95 crore anti-Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the country.
