India reports 2.51 lakh new COVID-19 cases, 627 deaths

New Delhi/UNI: India reported 2,51,209 new COVID-19 cases while the toll went up by 627 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,06,22,709, while the death toll rose to 4,92,327.

In the last one day, 3,47,443 more people have recovered from the disease, taking the total tally of recoveries to 3,80,24,771.

The recovery rate stands at 93.60%.

The active caseload now stands at 21,05,611, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 72.37 crore tests for COVID-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 164.44 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
