India reports 5,554 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India added 5,554 Covid-19 cases to its overall tally of infections in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said Saturday.

In the same span of time, 18 Covid-related deaths were reported from across the vast country of 1.3 billion people.

In 24 hours between Friday and Saturday mornings, 6,322 Covid patients have recovered improving the recovery rate to 98.7%.

The active cases, which are now 48,850, form 0.11% of the total cases reported so far in the country.

Under the national vaccination drive, 214.77 crore anti-Covid vaccine doses have so far been administered in the country.
