Indian police rescue stranded tourists on Leh-Manali road

Srinagar, July 23 (IBNS) More than 130 tourists rescued who were stranded due to heavy rainfall and blockage of Leh Manali road in Jammu and Kashmir were rescued, said police on Thursday.

“A team of Leh Police and Local Administration rescued 130 stranded tourists late night as a culvert was washed away and land slides at
many places of Leh Manali road," a police spokesman said.

“Tourists were rescued by bringing them on foot for 15 km to the bus point. Buses were provided by district administration and were escorted by police," the spokesman added.
