India's Covid-19 death toll touches 934

New Delhi/UNI: The death toll due to novel coronavirus is inching towards the 1000-mark as 48 people have lost their lives in just past 12 hours, taking the total number of fatalities to 934.

The number of cases now stands at 29,435 while the mortality rate is currently 23.3 per cent.

Maharashtra continues to be a top spot among the maximum number of coronavirus cases in the country. The state has so far witnessed 369 fatalities.

National capital Delhi which is on the third spot in the number of cases is doing well to contain the virus. The city has maintained one of the best recovery rates in the country with 877 patients cured and discharged from the hospital till date.

The second worst-hit state -- Rajasthan -- has now 2,262 cases. So far 46 people have lost their lives in the desert state.
