Kuwait City/Xinhua/UNI: Kuwait reported 20 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 255, the Health Ministry announced in a statement on Sunday.

Among 20 cases, six cases are Kuwaiti nationals who returned from Britain and one case is a resident who returned from Saudi Arabia, it said.

The other 13 cases have history of contact with infected patients, it said.

Out of the 255 cases, 67 of them have recovered and 188 are still receiving treatment, it said.

The Kuwaiti government has decided to impose a nationwide curfew to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

On March 13, Kuwait suspended all commercial flights. The government has also closed stores, malls and barbershops.
