Maharashtra: Thane reports 244 new COVID-19 cases

Thane/UNI: As many as 244 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, including a newborn girl and seven infants, were detected on Monday in this district, stated an official report on Tuesday.

Seven individuals, including six from Navi Mumbai, succumbed to the contagion in preceding day hence taking this district's death toll to 121.

Out of the new cases, this city reported a record 91 cases while the remaining patients were found in the suburbs of Navi Mumbai (74), Kalyan Dombivli (30) as well as other areas.

Now, this district has a total of 3,928, out of which, the highest 1,269 and 1,264 cases are in the limits of Thane and Navi Mumbai civic bodies, respectively.

While, there are 530 and 359 infected individuals in the respective suburbs of Kalyan-Dombivili and Mira-Bhayandar, report apprised, adding that the Thane Rural, Ulhasnagar and Badlapur civic councils have become a cause of concern with 185, 126 and 116 cases, respectively.

The remaining cases are from the powerloom town of Bhiwandi (43) and Ambernath (36).

The pandemic footprint is also widening in the distant Palghar district which tallied 389 confirmed cases, out of which, 16 have died, mentioned report.
