Nagaland reports 39 new cases, Covid tally rises to 35,274

Kohima/UNI: Nagaland recorded 39 COVID-19 new cases on Tuesday, increasing the overall infections in the state to 35,274, including 382 active cases in the state, a state health bulletin said.

With one more report of death, the total number of Covid-related fatalities remained at 753, the authorities said.

39 fresh cases were reported on Tuesday in Nagaland, out of the fresh cases, 14 cases were reported in Kohima, 13 in Dimapur, six in Tuensang, two in Mokokchung, two in Peren, one in Mon, and one in Wokha, taking the total caseload to 35,274, according to the official bulletin.

Out of 611 samples tested, with a sample positivity rate of 6.38 percent. 34 new cases were detected through self-tests and random testing, two were detected among travellers from outside the state, two are from security forces personnel and one from frontline workers.

Altogether 90 patients were recovered, with 38 patients from Dimapur, 37 from Kohima, five from Longleng, five from Tuensang, four from Mokokchung and one from Zunheboto, with the recovery rate having improved to 92.60 percent.

Out of 382 active cases, a total of 108 patients had mild symptoms and 267 were asymptomatic, one patient was in the intensive care unit on ventilator; one was in ICU without ventilator, five patients with moderate symptoms were on oxygen support.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, 38 patients from Dimapur, 37 from Kohima, five from Longleng, five from Tuensang, four from Mokokchung and one from Wokha, the report added.
