Vijayawada/UNI: The new coronavirus mutant strain case was detected in Andhra Pradesh's Rajamahendravaram.

Commissioner of Health department Katamaneni Bhakar said that a woman who came from the UK 10 days ago along with her son, was diagnosed positive for the new Covid strain.

He said that the swab samples of the woman were diagnosed at the CCMB and NIV and the reports confirmed the woman contracted the new Covid strain virus.

However, her son and other family members were diagnosed as ‘negative’ for Coronavirus.

He said that 1,423 people had come from the UK of which 1,406 had been traced. Out of them, only 12 were tested positive for coronavirus.

The Commissioner said that the government is constantly monitoring the situation and there is no need to worry about the coronavirus strain.
