New Delhi/IBNS: Despite a steep rise in Covid-19 cases in the national capital over the last several days, Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain on Monday said no lockdown will be imposed in the union territory at a time several socio-economic aspects of lives have been reopened following the national shutdown.

Jain said as quoted by NDTV, "There is no chance of a lockdown."

"I can tell you today that the peak of Delhi's third wave is gone," he added.

Though the national capital recorded little over 3,000 Covid-19 cases on Diwali on Sunday, several days in the last week recorded an average 7,000 infections.

Besides recording 3,235 cases, Delhi reported 95 due to the contagion on Sunday.
