Rajasthan records 75 pc COVID-19 recovery

Jaipur/UNI:  Despite registering more than 11,000 COVID-19 cases so far, Rajasthan has clocked 75 per cent recovery, an achievement which most-affected states have till yet failed to attain.

As per the update from state health department on Tuesday morning, the number of COVID-19 cases in the state has risen to 11,020, and out of these, 8,181 patients have recovered, which is 74.25 per cent.

Among the recovered, 7,779 patients have been discharged from hospitals, while 2,587 cases are active cases.

As many as 251 people have succumbed to the coronavirus in Rajasthan, which is 2.28 per cent.

Rajasthan Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Raghu Sharma said that the state government and his department are on alert to the challenge posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and making every possible effort for safeguarding the people from the dreaded virus.

He informed that in Rajasthan more than 25K tests are being carried out daily, and the aim of establishing testing facilities at every district of the state would soon be realised.

Till date, about 5,20,000 samples have been collected, out of which more than 5,03,000 have tested negative while results of 4,000 awaited.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 3,151 are migrants.

The capital Jaipur has registered the most number of cases at 2,321, whereas the district of Bundi has registered the least number of cases.

Jaipur also leads in terms of fatalities as it has lost 117 people to the disease while Barmer, Bundi, Dungarpur, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer and Jhalawar are the districts where not even one person has died.
