Kolkata/IBNS: Nephro Care India, a provider of comprehensive renal care, has rolled out an initiative to provide a forum for patients suffering from chronic kidney disease to seek advice from medical professionals regarding kidney health and nutrition among others.

The initiative (named ‘Ananda Adda’), free of charge, was launched at the company’s clinic in Chandannagar in West Bengal.

Said Dr Pratim Sengupta, founder and managing director, Nephro Care India, “For a country like India, which is often referred to as the ‘Diabetes Capital of the World’ , ensuring kidney health is of utmost importance to maintain a healthy life.”

Going in for routine tests for early detection of anomalies, adopting a customised diet plan, regular exercise and undergoing a holistic treatment to address any issues pertaining to the kidney can go a long way in ensuring kidney health, said Dr Sengupta.

Patients were also offered some hands-on activities to understand the issues and remedies.

According to a release, the company plans to roll out this initiative on a regular basis across its clinics in a phased manner.

Nephro Care India currently operates four comprehensive renal care clinics in West Bengal.

The company has successfully done its pre-IPO round with marquee investors, including Deepak Parekh (veteran banker and former chairman of HDFC Ltd), Bharat Shah (Chairman, HDFC Securities) and Rajendra Agarwal (Founder and MD of Macleods Pharmaceuticals), among others, participating in the funding round.
