S Korea reports 67 more COVID-19 cases, 12,373 in total

Seoul/Xinhua: South Korea reported 67 more cases of the COVID-19 compared to 24 hours ago as of midnight Saturday, raising the total number of infections to 12,373.

The daily caseload logged the highest in 23 days since May 28. Of the new cases, 31 were imported from overseas, lifting the combined figure to 1,427.

Small cluster infections were still found linked to religious gatherings, nursing homes, indoor sports facilities, health product retailer and distribution centers.

No more death was confirmed, leaving the death toll at 280. The total fatality rate stood at 2.26 per cent.

A total of 21 more patients were discharged from quarantine after making full recovery, bringing the combined number to 10,856. The total recovery rate was 87.7 per cent.

Since January 3, the country has tested more than 1.17 million people, among whom 1,137,058 tested negative for the virus and 21,470 are being checked.
