New Delhi, Sept 26 (IBNS) Santoor Maestro Tarun Bhattacharya has endorsed a campaign to spread awareness for cornea donation

The campaign spearheaded by Rotary Calcutta Metro City beginning in October, Santoor legend shall propagate the need to make cornea donations through Audio visual slides in movie theatres, billboards and hoardings across the city.

He shall make mandatory appeal to donate cornea to his audience across the country during all his concerts.

Special pamphlets with the need and appeal for such donations shall be distributed too.

He has decided to perform in 2 charity concerts during the year for the cause.  His social media handles shall feature appeal for cornea donation.

" I believe we must inculcate the awareness about organ donation right from the school level, so that when they are matured adults they can take independent decision to donate organs without any prejudice or ignorance. The future is not very heart warming as the gap between donations and requirements is ever increasing and I feel that it is the duty of public figures to create awareness about the need to donate organs," Tarun Bhattacharya
