Singapore reports 518 new COVID-19 cases

Singopore/Xinhua/UNI: Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 518 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 34,884.

Of the newly confirmed cases, two were cases in the community, and 516 were work permit holders residing in dormitories. There were no imported cases.

Of the new cases, 99 percent are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

A total of 972 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 21,699 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities, the ministry said.

There are 321 patients still being hospitalized, among whom eight cases are in intensive care unit.

In addition, 12,841 others are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

The number of patients who had died from complications caused by COVID-19 infection in the state stands at 23.
